MRS LIZZIE BARSTOW

ASSISTANT REGIMENTAL SECRETARY

Lizzie Barstow is a career Civil Servant who has served at a number of UK and overseas locations before taking post as the Acting Regimental Secretary at Home Headquarters in 2025.

Lizzie joined the Civil Service in 2001, providing statistical and analysis support to the Royal Air Force’s initial pilot training school at RAF Cranwell. Following successful selection as an Army Wife, Lizzie was delighted to move to ITC Catterick as an Information Technology instructor and then Joint Forces Command Brunssum in the Netherlands as finance and administrative support.

Returning to UK saw her undertake a training coordination role at the Defence School of Photography, including completion of basic and covert photography courses. MOD Corsham saw her become responsible for the selection and recruitment of specialist contractors before a Civil Service career break allowed Lizzie to specialise in Website support for Gloucester Local Medical Committee.

Originally recruited as the Regimental Administrative Assistant, Lizzie was selected to cover the Regimental Secretary role and now supports Regulars, veterans and families with events, welfare and funeral planning.

Lizzie lives near Lincoln with her husband Chris, daughter Zoe and son Dale. Outside of work she is a football player, youth coach and referee, mountain biker and runner.
