BENEVOLENCE
We aim to help Lancers in need by providing benevolence where possible. The Home Headquarters (HHQ) administer this on behalf of the Royal Lancer Charitable Trust. If you have an issue and are in need, please contact SSAFA or The Royal British Legion (TRBL) first. They will work with you to get you the right support and may then contact us to also provide assistance. If you are unsure whether SSAFA or the TRBL can help, please do pick up the phone and give us a call. Or, you can visit the Veterans Gateway who have people available 24/7 to talk with you. Please note, although we are unable to use benevolence for loans, funeral expenses, residential and care home fees, we can point you in the right direction to get help, so do pick up the phone and call us.
DURING 2019, 75 VETERANS WERE ASSISTED BY THE ROYAL LANCER CHARITABLE TRUST, WITH NEARLY £30,000 WORTH OF ASSISTANCE PROVIDED.
FUNERALS & DEATH NOTICES
HHQ can help to communicate deaths and funeral arrangements to other members. We can also help arrange poppy wreathes for funerals. Every year, in the Regimental Journal (Chapka), we list all the old comrades who have died. To report a death, please contact us.
