COLONEL WILLIAM ENGLISH CBE

CHAIRMAN OF THE ROYAL LANCER OLD COMRADES’ ASSOCIATION

William is a Chartered Director and Fellow with the Institute of Directors; a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute; a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and Master of Science in Defence and Strategic Studies.

William English CBE, commissioned into the 17th/21st Lancers in 1981. He has had a 36-year full career serving across four continents in the Armed Forces completing his regular service in 2017; he remains on a Reserve listing and is due to retire in 2022. William has worked at senior levels in cross-government policy development, as well as strategic and operational delivery. He has had considerable experience working within multi-national organisations, including NATO, the European Union and the United Nations. William owns and leads his own business in Kent; is an Independent Non-Executive Director with the OSTC Ltd Group and is Chair of their Strategy Oversight sub-committee. He is the Governance and Policy Ambassador for the IoD (Kent); a Business Strategy Mentor and is Chair of the Royal Lancers (Queen Elizabeths’ Own), Old Comrade’s Association and Trustee of The Royal Lancers Charitable Trust.
